Like my grandfather Cooper, my grandfather Babcock died when I was 1 year old. So I never knew him.
He was said to be a very sweet man. But he made a lot of money, even during the Depression.
My mother said as a child she used to follow him around picking up $5 bills off the floor.
Even after he died, his wife continued to live for a number of years in the apartment complex they
owned in Beverly Hills.
