T R COOPER JR, my dad, was born the 3rd child in Biggs, Ca, which is where his parents had settled to
engage in rice farming
after graduating from Bellevue College in Nebraska. At first, life was good
and prosperous on the farm. Within a few short years his parents were
on the verge of becoming wealthy from their efforts. But then a major storm
hit and ruined what was to be their last rice crop, and they went broke.
From then on, life was tough for the family. Never the less, my dad went on to
Nevada University where he sustained a major football injury to his knee.
At this point & being broke, he followed his two older brothers to Catalina
in the midst of the Depression. He was the one who always had a job.
And then he met my mother, they married and resided there until 1940. His first major break
came working as a radio dispatcher for Catalina Airlines.
From there, he went to work for KFI Radio in Buena Park, Ca.
Upon his retirement in 1976, he bought property in Williams Lake, Canada and built a house there.
